The steps to recommending initial portfolio allocations involve understanding each client’s situation, goals, and current and future needs.

Before any money is invested, each client will go through a process that includes a risk assessment, a discussion regarding their financial situation, and their goals for the funds to be invested.  This process will be formalized into an Investment Policy Statement (IPS), a formal document containing the objectives, strategy, and limitations for the money to be invested.

For many clients, the IPS will be created as part of their comprehensive financial plan.

All client assets will be held by a custodian in an account in the client’s name.  All deposits and withdrawals will flow directly between the client and the custodian directly.
